Junior Golf Statement of Purpose
 
1      Allow kids to have fun playing golf.
2     Establish a lifetime interest in the game of golf.
3     Teach fundamentals: grip, stance, posture, putting, the short game and long game.
4     Teach basic understanding of the rules and etiquette.
5     Teach the use of proper equipment for the player's size and ability.
6     Teach the importance of playing at a steady pace to make the game more fun for all players.
7      Recognize achievements by students in defferent areas.
8     Teach good sportsmanship and encourage new friendships.
 
Proper golf etiquette
 
1      Replace all divots                                                    6      No cheating
2     Repair all ball marks on greens                 7       No throwing clubs
3     Replace flagstick on greens                         8       No bad language
4     Be courteous to maintenence crew       9      No  range balls on course
5    Rake all traps you play from                        10     Let adults play through if you
                                                                                                                   are playing to slowly
 
Junior Approval Requirements
 
1     Boys must have (5) 18 hole scores of 110 or better from the white tees witnessed by an adult. 
       Girls must have (5) 18 hole scores of 120 or better from the red tees witnessed by an adult.
2    You must have a USGA rule book and pass a rules and etiquette test given by the Pro or his Assistant.  If you do not pass the test, you may retake it until 2 weeks have passed from the date of your last test.
