Q. Who owns the Club?

A. Wausau Country Club is 100% owned by a group of current members.


Q. Is there an initiation fee required to join the Club?

A. There is currently no initiation fee required to join the Club. WCC members pay yearly dues. The dues year runs November 1 to October 31 each year.


Q. Is the golf course and restaurant completely private?

A. Yes, the golf course and restaurant are for members and their accompanied guests only. The Club does allow outside weddings to be booked under special circumstances.


Q. Am I allowed to bring guests and family to the Club?

A. Yes, members are allowed to bring guests to dinner, the pool, and to use the golf course as described in the member guidelines.


Q. What activities does the Club offer besides golf?

A. WCC offers a full calendar of activities year round including 4th of July fireworks, cooking classes, swimming, great dining, fun member parties, and so much more.


Q. Are golf leagues available?

A. Yes, the Club offers golf leagues for men, women, couples, and kids every golf season.


Q. Do you offer bag storage and locker facilities?

A. Yes, the Club offers these services to members as options to your membership. A large number of members store their clubs with us every year and the Club has outstanding locker room facilities that include full showers, towel service, and a staffed locker room attendant.


Q. Does WCC have a junior golf program for kids?

A. The WCC junior golf program is one of the best junior programs in Northern Wisconsin. Junior golf lasts nine weeks and is held every Thursday morning each summer. Member kids are broken into different age categories and the highly-trained staff works on various parts of the golf game each week. This includes on-course instruction. After golf, the juniors have lunch and then will usually hit the pool for a full day of fun.


Q. Does the Club have any type of member board?

A. The WCC operates with a member board in place. The board works in conjunction with the ownership group and the Club management team to make decisions in the best interest of the Club.


Q. How does the Club bill dues?

A. We bill dues in ten monthly installments from November-July. This allows members the option to spread out payments for dues during the winter so they are paid in full come the heart of the season.


Q. What does Troon Golf management mean to me as a WCC member?

A. The Club has been under the management of Troon Golf for over 10 years. Troon Golf is the world’s foremost golf management company and its resources provide management support to the Club leadership team. Members get the advantage of being involved in an organization that offers reciprocal arrangements with some of the finest Clubs in the world at no extra charge to their membership. Wausau Country Club continues to maintain its own identity and makes decisions for the best interests of the Club at the Club level.
